In 2005, the Crafts Council of England selected Denise Bird’s textile design company as one of the “most innovative and original emerging design talents” in the U.K. Her textile work is contemporary yet timeless in style and is also ecologically sound and of exceptional quality. Denise has a Degree in Textile Design from Chelsea College of Art and Design. Her work has been shown at various London exhibitions and nationwide fashion shows.
Denise has travelled widely helping to promote personal and social empowerment through the development of handcraft. The fibres which she uses are globally sourced and represent the most ecologically, socially responsible and technically advanced contemporary textile solutions. They are often from fairly traded sources and are woven in their natural, un-dyed state. When natural dye pigments are applied then this is always stated.
